Graduation Gown Pick-Up & Return

All students participating in ºìÐÓÊÓƵ graduation ceremonies must wear the provided black graduation gown and corresponding vee stole.  Gowns and stoles must be returned following the ceremony, before leaving the venue. 

Early grad gown pick-up will be available on campus in room A1010 during the following times:

• Tuesday, June 17, 2025: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Wednesday June 18, 2025: 4 - 7 p.m
• Thursday, June 19, 2025: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Monday, June 23, 2025: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

If you are unable to pick up your gown during the times listed, it will be available one hour prior to ceremony start time at the venue graduation day.  Gowns will not be given to anyone other than ºìÐÓÊÓƵ graduates unless prior notification is received. Contact your local Student Life Officer to make other arrangements if required.

Souvenir Graduation caps will be available for purchase during early gown pick up times only. The cost is $5.00, and we accept cash, debit, or credit.  NOTE: souvenir caps will not be worn during the ceremony, and they will not be sold at the venue graduation day.

Ceremony Arrival Time (at the Richard J. CURRIE CENTER)

If you pick up your gown in advance, please arrive no later than 45 minutes before the ceremony start time. Graduates who have not picked up their gown must arrive one hour before the ceremony start time.  Bring your student ID card or photo ID and be prepared to provide your ºìÐÓÊÓƵ ID number.  

Important:  It is crucial to arrive on time to ensure you are seated with your program.

There are three entrances to the Currie Center, proceed to the 4th floor. Once inside, you will be directed to a common area to line up.

Name Card

A name card will be issued to each graduate upon arrival. You must keep this card with you and hand it to the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ staff member reading graduate names before you cross the stage.

Parking

Parking passes are not required for Graduation Day (June 24th). Refer to the  for details.  Remember to factor in parking time when planning your arrival. 

Guests

Invitations are not required for admission to Graduation. Guests will be directed to the seating area by staff and/or volunteers. 

Dress Code

Graduates are encouraged, but not required to, dress in business-like attire for the ceremony. Gowns must remain zipped for the duration of the ceremony. NOTE: souvenir grad caps will not be worn during the ceremony.

IMPORTANT:  Please leave personal belongings with your guests. There is not a secure place to leave them during the ceremony and you are not guaranteed to return to your same seat after crossing the stage.

Graduation is a major milestone, and we want every ºìÐÓÊÓƵ graduate to have their moment to shine when crossing the stage. For this reason, we kindly ask that you return to the graduate seating after receiving your parchment and remain seated for the duration of the ceremony.

During the ceremony, guests are not permitted in the graduate seating area. If you plan to have children under the age of 16 in attendance, please ensure they are supervised by an adult guest during the ceremony.

Photo Opportunities

A photo area will be available on-site for self-serve photo opportunities following the ceremony.  Access to certain areas may apply pending various venue restrictions.

There is no parking available at TD Station. Paid parking is available nearby at the Peel Plaza, , and garages. Learn more about parking options in the uptown area of the city .

Important: Graduates and guests with mobility challenges may use the drop-off lane in front of TD Station; however, parking in this area—even briefly—is not permitted.

Please also be aware of road closures due to construction near the venue. Be sure to factor in extra time for parking and walking when planning your arrival.

Students who missed the Early Exit deadline must speak to their Academic Chair regarding their graduation options.

ºìÐÓÊÓƵ is committed to working with our ceremony venues to provide an accessible graduation experience for all graduates.  If you require accommodations regarding access to the graduation stage, or have any other accessibility needs, email grad@nbcc.ca  no later than one business week prior to Graduation week.  Please include your name, program, campus, and a brief description of your accommodation request in your email.  Based on the date we receive your request, ºìÐÓÊÓƵ will do our best to assist given specific details and timelines.

If you are eligible to receive a parchment from one campus but wish to attend a graduation ceremony at a different campus, you must email grad@nbcc.ca to request your preferred location no later than Friday, April 25, 2025 (for June convocation). IMPORTANT:  after emailing us, be sure to   by the deadline stating the correct campus you plan to attend on the order form.

On the day of the ceremony, graduates who request this accommodation must:

• Arrive at least one hour before the ceremony start time to receive a name card and program name sign (if required).
• Collect their gown and stole before lining up for the ceremony.

NOTE: Parchments are only issued at the graduate's home (designated) campus. This means you can either pick up your parchment at your home campus the following business day after the ceremony, or email studentrecords@nbcc.ca to request your parchment be mailed.

Thank you to all candidates for applying to audition to perform the Canadian national anthem during convocation ceremonies at each campus!  Applications have now closed. The local campus selection committee will contact each candidate to schedule an audition date and time.

Are you completing your program and eligible for graduation in June 2025?  It is important to verify and update your consent for disclosure online in your .  This will ensure ºìÐÓÊÓƵ has your permission to include your name, program of study, location of study, city of origin, and credentials achieved in our digital graduation program.  Be sure to update your “Home” address which will be announced as you cross the stage.

To verify or update your “Consent for Disclosure” information, login to .  From the home page, enter 'Consent for Disclosure' into the search bar > Select the form > Scroll to the bottom of the form and select “Yes” under ‘Graduation’> Click Save. 

IMPORTANT: This is required.  Your name will not be included in the digital program without this record of consent.

Graduates and/or guests are welcome to place an online flower order prior to graduation day. All online orders will be available for pickup on site. Flowers are also available to purchase the day of ceremonies at all ºìÐÓÊÓƵ convocations. .

This award recognizes a graduating student who has made an exceptional leadership contribution within an ºìÐÓÊÓƵ campus and/or the community they serve. There is one award per Academic School.

The Governor General’s Academic Medals recognize the outstanding scholastic achievements of students across Canada. The Collegiate Bronze Medal is awarded to the student who has the highest overall average upon graduation from approved college and university programs. One (1) award per Academic School.

The Highest Academic Standing in a Program award recognizes the student in each program who has successfully completed and achieved highest academic standing within that program. The award recipient must achieve an overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.  Where multiple deliveries of the same program are offered at a campus, one award is granted annually. One (1) award per program per campus.

Students who have successfully completed all requirements for graduation and have attained the required overall 3.5 grade point average will receive the designation of Honours. Students who achieve ‘Honours Status’ will be recognized with an honours cord to be worn during their graduation ceremony.

Students who served in a leadership role with the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Student Union will be recognized with a white cord to be worn during their graduation ceremony.

The ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Student Union is offering up to fifty $250 graduation bursaries to deserving June 2025 graduates. To be eligible for these bursaries, students must be a member of the ºìÐÓÊÓƵ Class of 2025 and have made significant contributions to their local or provincial Student Unions and the larger College community during their time at ºìÐÓÊÓƵ.
